Jane Newman is one of Australia's most compelling voices on teacher wellbeing, agency and the inner life of the educator. A former school principal with more than 25 years in education across regional, remote and urban settings, Jane left the classroom not because she stopped loving teaching, but because she wanted to have a bigger impact. She founded NewCore on a simple but radical premise: learning starts within. Jane works at the intersection of neuroscience, emotional wellbeing and internal psychology, a body of work she calls the neuroscience of choosing. Her sessions help school staff and leaders understand how their brain actually makes decisions, why it defaults to exhaustion, blame and resentment under pressure, and how to interrupt those patterns to choose a fundamentally different experience of their work and life.
