A Conversation with Kim Olver: Empowering Educators Through Self-Awareness: A Choice Theory Approach (Part 1)
Recently, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Kim Olver on her podcast Life = Choices; Choices = Life. We explored the winding path that led me to Choice Theory—a framework that’s now deeply embedded in both my personal and professional life.
In our conversation, I reflected on growing up in Australia and how my early experiences shaped my passion for helping others. I shared how I first discovered Choice Theory, what drew me to it, and how it has become a foundation for my work with individuals and organisations.
We also talked about the challenges and rewards of promoting mental wellness in Australia, and why I believe Choice Theory has such transformative potential in schools, workplaces, and relationships.
It was an honour to be featured on Kim’s podcast and connect with others who are passionate about internal control psychology, personal growth, and living a more connected life.
If you’ve been curious about the “why” behind my work or want to learn more about how Choice Theory plays out in real life, this is a great place to start - I hope this conversation will leave you inspired.
Thanks again to Kim for the opportunity—and thank you for being part of the New Core community.
